Many golfers would rather play in autumn than any other time of year, for a variety of reasons.
Summer’s heat and humidity have all but vanished. Crisp, comfortable temperatures put the spring back into their fall steps. Golfers seem to concentrate, and appreciate, their games and surroundings more. And, despite a temperate climate that enables them to play year round, those who play golf in the southeast perhaps appreciate the onset of autumn more than anyone else, whether they frequent courses in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, or the coastal regions of Florida or South Carolina. Yes, high and low handicappers alike seem to be happier when autumn arrives in the southeast. Basically, fall golf is truly cooler—in more ways than one.
